Guided tour
Modern architecture

Influenced by the 1920’s movement the Bauhaus, modern architecture (or modernism) is a style marked by the use of steel and reinforced concrete and by the lack of ornementation offered a radical break with the past tradition.

Our tour will allow us to visit the Maison La Roche (1925) where Le Corbusier applied for the first time his five-point architectural theories : free plan and walls, building on top of stilts, ribbon windows and the rooftop. The architect Robert Mallet Stevens built a series of five modern mansions, including his own workshop, which will also be commented.

The tour includes a visit to the Raoul La Roche house.
