Guided tourFaubourg Saint Antoine
La cour de l'étoile d'or

the courtyard of the Etoile d’or

Presentation :

For centuries, it has been the center of some of the greatest wood crafstmen such as Charles André Boulle or Jean Henri Riesener. Their specialties included painting gold-inlay on furniture, mixing different types of wood for one piece of furniture, bronze-workers and cabinet-makers.

Crossing the Faubourg Saint Antoine, one of the oldest thoroughfare in Paris, we will see the numerous courtyards and passages which once housed their workshops, giving the area a unique charm. This walk will allow you to discover the Passages des Chantiers, the Cour de l’Etoile which houses a 18th century sundial, the Cour of the Shadocks, named after a famous French TV series of the 1970’s, and so many quiet alleys away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
